Good and bad extraterrestrials having a fight while a bunch of humans get caught in the crossfire. AvPR is very much like the absolute worst Transformers movies, particularly Revenge of the Fallen.

I’m not going to damage your brain with those. And heck, just reading them reminded me of a big part of why this film was so awful.
#CAST OF ALIEN VS PREDATOR REQUIEM MOVIE#
When hunting for a quote to use at the top of this article, I visited a short page of quotes from the movie to pick one. Remember how it was pretty intolerable in AvP? Well, instead of half-competent scientists with underdeveloped characters and poorly-written dialog, AvPR regresses to a cast of completely-incompetent teenagers with completely-undeveloped characters and even more poorly-written dialog. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem is like its predecessor in that it features a cast of human characters to help drive the excuse for a narrative. Notice how I barely mentioned the film’s oh-so-unnecessary human cast in the summary? Yeah. On Yautja Prime, Wolf receives the distress signal and goes to select his equipment. (Picture credit: 20th Century Fox) Upon his arrival, Wolf begins cleaning up the infestation by battling the newly-grown Xenomorphs and destroying the Alien remains, all the while preparing for the inevitable showdown with the Predalien hybrid. On Yuatja Prime, a successful veteran of the hunt named Wolf picks up the signal and sets out immediately in response to contain the outbreak on Earth. At the crash site, the lone surviving Predator transmits a distress signal before dying. The Predalien escapes along with several facehuggers, and they begin to impregnate some of the local residents. During the struggle, a Predator’s plasma caster penetrates the hull and the ship loses control, eventually crashing in the town of Gunnison, Colorado.

Although all the Yautja aboard are fierce warriors, they are no match for the unfamiliar threat and they are quickly slaught ered. Soon, the thing develops into a fully-grown monstrosity, a hybrid of both Xenomorph and Yautja called- what else?- a Predalien. However, they are unaware that during his hunt, Scar was impregnated by a facehugger, and a chestburster erupts from his corpse. Aliens vs Predator: Requiem takes place immediately after Alien vs Predator. Just after retrieving the dead body of the recently-Blooded Predator Scar, the Yautja set course to leave Earth. Terrible like you wouldn’t believe! Produced and distributed once again by 20th Century Fox- ah, geez, if you’re wondering why I’m even wasting my time on a plot summary, it’s because this movie was so badly received that hardly anyone bothered returning to it, and hence the story- or its pathetic excuse for one- might have slipped away into the void. So I’m going to cut the and say that right out of the gate, this one is awful. Sometimes, saying these kinds of things is necessary, and as the Vulcan ambassador Sarek said in Star Trek: “What is necessary is never unwise.”

I of all people would understand that there are times in life when people have to cut loose and say certain things, even- or especially- if those things are particularly unpleasant. Wide release on Christmas Day.Ĭonvoluted, visually-fuddled and completely lacking of any skill or talent whatsoever, Aliens vs Predator: Requiem falls far short of any expectations.
